Why SugarHouse Sportsbook Could Be Huge in PA

So let’s talk a little bit about why we like SugarHouse Sportsbook for PA sports betting. One of the things about SugarHouse is that they’ve actually had an online casino live in New Jersey for several years, because online gambling was legal in the state of New Jersey. So when sports betting launched last summer, DraftKings was first out of the gate, but SugarHouse soon followed with their PlaySugarHouse.com app. They actually use the same market provider, Kambi, as DraftKings does, thus allowing them to offer competitive lines and a wide range of action, including live betting.

One of the things about SugarHouse that we really like is their simplistic deposit bonus, along with the ease at which you can deposit money into your account.

Depositing money into your SugarHouse Sportsbook account is very easy. They accept over 11 different forms of deposit, including credit cards, direct e-check, bank account, PayPal, Skrill, and even paying Near Me, which allows you to deposit money at 7 Eleven or even in person at other locations.

So among all of the apps in New Jersey for legal sports betting, SugarHouse is the easiest to get your money in, which is no small feat. Other sportsbooks have struggled as credit card providers and banks have been hesitant to allow gambling-related transactions, SugarHouse has largely smoothed out this hiccup in depositing. So if you prefer not to give your bank account or use your credit card, SugarHouse is your best bet for getting money into an app. They have smoothed this out.

In terms of the deposit bonus, while it is not the largest, SugarHouse offers a straightforward $250 deposit match, meaning that whatever you put into your account on your first deposit, they will match up to $250.

Even better, there is little play-through requirement on this, meaning you only have to bet this deposit match one time before it is eligible for withdrawal. Other apps that offer a $500 bonus make you go through a complicated range of play-through requirements and generally make it difficult to get that money out. SugarHouse is more straightforward. You have to bet it once, and then you’re eligible to take it out.

Their interface is not the best that we’ve seen, however it is clean and everything just works. There is the occasional hiccup on loading, but they have issued updates and they seem to have smoothed this out a little bit. Odds are laid out vertically across a wide range of categories, including spread, money line, total, props, parlays, and even live betting. You could simply scroll down the screen, select the bet, enter your amount, and place your bet.

SugarHouse will likely launch in Pennsylvania sometime in 2019. They have a physical location located in Philadelphia and are a known brand locally. Therefore, given their local name recognition in the Philly area, it should be no surprise that SugarHouse might be one of the leaders in early online PA sports betting.

Draft Kings Sportsbook, on the other hand, does not have a casino partner and may not launch in the state until the end of the year. FanDuel, Parx, and SugarHouse may be the first three out of the gate, thus giving Sugar House a competitive edge, because they’re the one actually located in Philadelphia, which is the biggest market in the state and one of the biggest markets in the country, which is also effectively the test market for legal sports betting in the United States.

So Sugar House offers a great betting experience, and while not perfect, and its user interface could use a little bit of work, is one to watch out for in Pennsylvania for betting.
